Kevin Smith’s horror effort Red State finally comes out next week, and we are looking forward to the prospect of seeing the controversial director’s latest project at last.

Inspired by the notorious Westboro Baptist Church, the film concerns three teenage boys who drive out to a remote corner of middle America on a promise of internet-arranged sex. Encountering Abin Cooper, a sinister, fire-and-brimstone preacher played by cult favourite Michael Parks, the boys are drawn into the middle of a frightening confrontations between his fanatical, cult like congregation and John Goodman’s FBI team. The film looks like a truly exciting prospect, with the stylish visuals and constant threat level making a promising trailer.

Quentin Tarantino neatly surmises his feelings on the poster – “I f**king love this movie!”. Early word is that the preformances of Goodman, Parks and Melissa Leo are nailed-on, and we look forward to seeing what the great cast can do with the promising concept.The trailer had everyone excited earlier in the year, and for more official videos, images and more head over to the film’s Facebook page.

Red State is released on September 30th.

Gemma Arterton isn’t on the cast list for Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to last year’s epic remake of Clash of the Titans.

A press release was issued as filming began on the follow-up, with Sam Worthington reprising his role as Perseus. Battle: Lost Angeles director Jonathan Liebesman takes over from Louis Leterrier, with new and old cast returning. Rosamund Pike has replaced Alexa Davalos as Andromeda, and now it looks like Arterton’s Io won’t be returning.

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus—the demigod son of Zeus—is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus’ godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus.
